Back to School Letter

Dear Families,

The 2022 – 2023 school year is upon us. That’s right. For the first time in the history of the School District of Philadelphia, the school year will begin in August.

The first day of school for all students is Monday, August 29, 2022.

I am looking forward to an exciting and successful school year. That success begins with attendance. Good attendance during the beginning of school will lead to solid attendance throughout the year. That will put your student in the best position to succeed. So I hope your child will be ready to learn and be part of our progress when we begin classes on August 29.

The School District of Philadelphia is celebrating the start of the 2022 – 2023 school year with a campaign called Ring The Bell PHL. We are encouraging parents, elected officials, and community and business leaders to help us mark the beginning of school by ringing a bell at 8AM on August 29. Please join us by ringing a bell using your phone or a real old fashioned bell at 8AM on Monday as we wish our students and staff the best. If you want to share your wishes for a successful school year on social media, please add #RingTheBellPHL to your post.

If you have any questions, please contact our school at 215-400-7520 or visit our website at overbrook.philasd.org.

Please enjoy the rest of the summer and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Mr. Dixon, Principal
